Separation and Compaction of Paint Buckets

Separate and Compact Paint Buckets
Destruction of returned goods and faulty manufacture from paint manufacturers often result in a problem regarding storage. For recycling centres it can be a problem to empty and compact the half empty paintbuckets. By installing a RUNI screw compactor, space and handling can be saved through separation and compacting of the buckets right away. The compacted buckets can be sold for recycling. The content of the buckets can be send to incineration. 100% product destruction ensures that the products are not resold. The normal maximal diameter of the cans are 230 mm corresponding to a 10 litre bucket.
The Screw Compactor Solution for Paint Buckets
RUNI screw compactor SK370 compacts and separates the buckets continuously and while the content is being pressed out into a tank, the containers are compacted and gathers, so that they can be sold for recycling. The machine is equipped with sensors for automatic start and stop. The paint buckets can be added to the screw compactor with a conveyor belt and/or manually. Both matrix and collection tray are made of stainless steel (AISI316) to resist low pH in many of these liquids
The screw rotates very slowly to prevent sparkles/ danger of explosion.
For compacting and separation of large metal bucket or drums with a diameter up to 600mm RUNI have developed an SK370.
Capacity and Achieved Density After the Screw Compactor
The SK370 model has a capacity of 3,500 buckets of 3L, or 1,000 paint buckets of 10 L.
The compacted paint buckets made of plastic normally achieves a compaction up to 300 kg/m3, and the metallic paint buckets normally achieve a density of 1500 kg/m3
