For paper waste to be converted into recycled paper, all unwanted material must be separated. This highly water-containing reject is expensive to transport and dispose of, but after compression/dewatering in a RUNI screw compactor, it can be disposed of as combustible waste at a significantly lower fee. Food waste can also be dewatered in a RUNI screw compactor. Here, the liquid fraction is used in biogas plants, and the solid fraction can be sent for incineration.
